Tommy Miles: Home

"Tommy has had one of those coulda/woulda/shoulda careers", quote by Brian Baker;Country Standard Time Mag.

Tommy Miles is a journeyman singer/songwriter that to his peers and the fans that know his story and music, he's the "real deal".His music showcases the styles that influenced it.He has written, recorded or worked with the likes of Delaney Bramlett, Rock&Roll;Hall of Famer;Spooner Oldham,Bekka Bramlett, Donnie Fritts, J.J. Cale, Willie Nelson & band,Chris Ethridge, Delbert McClinton and a whole lot more.2007 had a critically acclaimed cd(Take Me Back Biloxi), that was 61 in Radio Free Texas top 100 cds, and had a #1 hit on RFT(Senior High)and cuts from the cd were included in the docu-movie(Katrina Diary).

His musical style is a "gumbo" of the sounds that influenced it. As a child, his parents were fans of the Grand Ole Opry and of Memphis Rock&Roll;. Hank Williams to Elvis rang through the Miles household. Later on he was introduced to southern blues, cajun and soulfull R&B.When the Beatles came out, he saw what a band could become and when he saw the Rolling Stones, he figured he could definetly do it.He then moved out to the west coast, were the "Bakersfield" country sound caught his ear, The twang of a Fender Telecaster and a fiddle, just set things right. So I guess it's safe to say that Tommys' sound is somewere in Bakersfield, between Nashville,Memphis and Muscle Shoals.

A prolific songwriter in his own right,he has his "own" sound.Tommy has been lucky to write with some of the most accomplished songwriters of his generation including Delaney Bramlett and Spooner Oldham.

Tommys' latest project is his favorite ever. Tommy Miles w/Gritz-n-Gravy is a four piece fiddle/tele driven sound with a solid, hard hitting rhythm section. A whole lotta sound in a stripped-down honky-tonk/rock&roll;band.The band includes Melissa Lynn Lincoln, Ty Smith and Rick Robinson.

Come check them out when you get a chance, better yet, tell your favorite music venue to bring him into town. You won't be dissapointed!
